After a Trial
After the trial you can contact the Victim Witness Service to find out the outcome. If the suspect was convicted they will explain what the sentence means.
After Court Support
Victim Support Isle of Man can offer further additional support to victims following the conclusion of any legal proceedings. This support is available to adult victims after the conclusion of the trial or appeal, who do not require specialist counselling or trauma support. The service aims to help build confidence and resilience following crime and aid with victim recovery.
Keeping victims informed
If you have any questions about the sentence that Victim Support can’t answer, you can ask the Prosecution Service at the Attorney Generals to give you more information.
The Police Officer in charge of your case is also responsible for telling you if an application is made to appeal the sentence, giving you information about any hearing, and letting you know the outcome.
