After Court Support
Victim Support Isle of Man recognises that the victim recovery journey does not finish with the verdict or sentencing at the end of a trial.
Victims have many complex needs, and while some people recover well and are able to get back to ‘normal’ after experiencing crime, others feel the effects for much longer and require further support.
What does the After Court Support Service offer?
The After Court Support Service aims to rebuild confidence and resilience in adults who have been a victim of crime.
The victim recovery journey can be very isolating and many victims have indicated they would like after court support to help them cope better and move forward with their lives.
Who can apply?
Our After Court Support service is open to adult victims once a court case has concluded, including any appeals, and who do not require any specialist counselling.
Victim Support Isle of Man staff will assist victims on their journey after court with a support plan, tailored to their individual needs, to help them focus on a positive and healthy direction as they move beyond the impact of the crime.
How can I engage with the service?
To arrange to speak to someone in the After Court Support Service either email Enquires@victimsupport.im or call 01624 679950.
