14th Annual Jamie Haslett Football Tournament
Victim Support Isle of Man are pleased to announce that they raised just over £3,300 at the 14th Jamie Haslett Memorial Football Tournament which took place on Sunday 5th August 2024. This event is held each year in memory of Jamie Haslett, who tragically lost his life in 2010.
The Haslett family continue to work closely with the charity to organise the mixed 5-a-side football tournament. The event, kindly sponsored by Appleby this year, was held at Laxey Football Club in very changeable weather.
The family said “It was another amazing day to celebrate Jamie and to raise funds for Victim Support Isle of Man. The sun may have been missing but the spirit of the tournament came shining through as it always does. We are so thankful to everyone who comes along year after year to take part or watch, especially the team at Victim Support, sponsors, and of course Laxey Football Club. Thank you to everyone that showed their support, from donating raffle prizes to cheering on the sidelines, it is always the people that make the day so special.”
Lorna Trevethan, CEO of Victim Support Isle of Man states “This event has a great turnout each year and is a fun family friendly afternoon, and although the teams are very competitive they are there primarily to have fun. We would like to add our thanks to those of the family, and would especially like to thank Kyle Herman and Sean Pacey both of whom have worked really hard behind the scenes to help bring the tournament together.”
Lorna continues, “Congratulations to Utmost International who triumphed in the final against runners up Crellies Dellies. One of the Utmost International team, Cory Addy, along with Kyle Herman helped to establish the tournament and have supported it year after year. 24 teams participated including 4 teams from Plan.com, who were defending their title from last year, and whilst they did not win, they were worthy competitors, and we hope to have all the teams back next year!”
